May 30th, 2012: It’s one thing to get a backstage pass to a show as big as a Dave Matthews Band concert—but it’s a whole different experience to get an in-depth tour of the band’s operations and to talk with each skilled professional on the team. That’s just what MRC’s youth got to experience this week. In the photo album below, Fenton Williams, Lighting/Production Designer for DMB, takes MRC teens on a technical tour of the band’s giant touring operation, just hours before they perform at Riverbend Music Center. On the tour, we met a big handful of the 60+ personnel that hits every tour stop; including part of the band, stage crew, audio and lighting staff, and instrument techs. Each took their time to explain what they contribute to the grand operation. Our youth also heard priceless advice and anecdotes from the band and professionals—about life, how to apply yourself, and how to maintain a work ethic that affords you the kind of great opportunities that helped them move up.
